Chapter 1: Introduction - Excerpt

Why do Moms Need a Cruise?

Whether you are a stay-at-home Mom, work-at-home Mom or work-outside-home Mom (or a combination of these) chances are that you work hard. You are constantly on call for your family and can never take a break from that stress. Your job as a Mom begins when you get up in the morning and ends when you drop into bed at night. Sometimes it can be even longer if you have a child who wakes up at night due to sleeplessness or illness. While Moms are often appreciated, they usually do not get the break they often need or deserve.

A vacation is just what a Mom needs. But it has to be the right kind of vacation. What good is it renting a cabin at the seashore for a week, if you are doing all of the cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. as well as dealing with the stresses of packing and traveling? What you need is a vacation where you can be pampered, and someone else does all of the work for you. Even better is a vacation where all of these things are included, so you don’t even have to worry about the cost after making your final payment on the trip.

A cruise is the perfect answer for this need. You board a ship and settle into the cabin. You only unpack once, even though you visit multiple locations. Your cabin is cleaned and given fresh towels and bed linens twice each day. All the food you could possibly want is included and prepared freshly for you. All you have to worry about is getting there and having fun.

Something for Everyone

Now here’s the best part of a cruise vacation: you can take your family! Yes, we all know that there are lots of family vacations, but how many family vacations can you take that are this stress-free and allow everyone in your family to have a great time, doing things that they enjoy? On a cruise there are so many different activities geared towards so many different age groups, that everyone has fun. Remember when you were a kid and your parents dragged you to see a monument (or museum) that you found monumentally boring? Or the agonized looks on your parents’ faces when they had to go to a kiddie attraction that you found to be Heaven-on-Earth? That doesn’t happen on a cruise, because while Mom and Dad are doing what they want, the kids are off doing what they want. You can even (gasp!) squeeze in a little time for romance with your spouse. Now you’re really talking vacation! Cruises are becoming more and more popular for family reunions, for exactly this reason.
